Welcome to First Due Designs

Welcome and thank you for checking out what we are doing. My name is Ted, and I am the Founder of First Due Designs. I didn't realize it at the time, but this venture began way back in 1986. The first step that I took when I walked into my local volunteer firehouse has ended up turning into a 35-year (and counting....) adventure in public safety. Over the course of my journey, I have worn many hats. From the fire service, to EMS, to the military, and currently as a Fire Dispatcher, I have been fortunate beyond measure to have had the opportunity to serve my country and my communities.

Just to give some perspective, when I first joined the fire service, we had 3/4-length boots, Scott II-A's, and open cabs. Needless to say, a lot has changed. While I miss the sound of the Q, the smell of my bunker gear after a fire, and the conversations that happen around the firehouse dinner table, I know that I am still able to watch out for my brothers and sisters from the other side of the radio. That feeling of connection is something that makes the fire service one of the most amazing things to be a part of.

That being said, I am so happy to have begun First Due Designs. The pride that exists within every company, every firehouse, every district, and every city is one of those things that, unless you've been on the rig, or made that long stretch, or forced those doors, most people just don't fully understand. It is this sense of pride that has inspired, and continues to inspire the designs that I create for First Due Designs. As we move forward, I hope to capture the essense of what it means to be a firefighter.

I am looking forward to seeing where this goes, and hope I am able to use my designs to represent the heroic work that you do everyday.

Once again, thank you for checking out First Due Designs.
